"You're Golden--Take It Here, There, Anywhere"

What runs through my mind most of the time when I buy an item is-- "can I wear this to work AND for a night out?"  While you will always have a fancy-schmancy dress or a simply hot pair of stilettos for that special occasion, most of us spend the majority of our hours at work with a tiny sliver of the "time pie" out being social.  The question, then, remains... how do I maximize my wardrobe for both activities?
The epicenter of these two creations was the skirt.  I have been digging the tiers and ruffles in style as of late, and it seems that a lot of my purchases have a ruffle, tier, or layer in them.  I loved the layered look for the office, and the skirt's ability to transform into a simple and elegant outfit for a dinner date.
The great thing about this grouping was that the more I looked at it--the more I realized the versatility of every item.  I can imagine the cardi and crossbody bag combined with a pair of slouchy boyfriend jeans as a chic, but casual alternative for an outdoor picnic.  The blouse can make an encore appearance with slacks and a v-neck sweater to work.  The two-tone jewelry can be used as a set again or separately to add some shine to almost any other outfit containing an open neckline.  The gold cut-out peeptoe pumps probably should not make their way into an office setting, but not to worry!  They will be sure to act as the "wow" factor with any dress in your closet for that wedding we all inevitably attend in the spring.
Shine on!

I dub thee-- "Motorcycle meets Dance Club"

I recently purchased a faux black leather bomber jacket from NY & Co. for a really nice price at one of their crazy sales (you know--the ones that are 50% off the entire store, and we'll honor any additional discount coupons you have in your possession).  I was never one for "leather" clothing or outerwear, but I decided to give it a try to add some edge to my wardrobe.  I love it as an addition to outfits thus far.
The great thing about all these items is that you can use each and every one of them in varying types of outfits.  The dress is instantly more glam with a pair of sky-high stilettos or cage heels.  You can use the necklace to add spice to an everyday suit.  You can pair the jacket with jeans and a tee for a more casual look.  The ankle booties can accompany a pair of skinny jeans.  And, well, the ring can be worn at any time!

FleurStyle is Born Today

We have been talking about starting this blog for awhile now, and it has finally happened!  The goal is to create a forum to hold the ideas that bounce around in our minds during the better course of a day... and actually record the link-swapping, outfit-creating, and just plain old lusting after items we find through a variety of sources.  We have become makeshift stylists for friends and family, and have enjoyed every minute of it.  Now, we want to try and branch out into the web world.

Welcome!  We hope that people enjoy the pieces, take advantage of this site, and ask us any questions that they want answered.
